Skincare lovers know that there are two cornerstones to facial care: sun protection and daily cleansing. But did you know that you can take your makeup removal to the next level?
The Korean double cleanse is the answer! It is important to know that this isn't about washing your face twice, but rather cleansing it in two different “ways.” This routine involves first using a makeup removal oil (oil-based) to remove lipophilic residues (fats, oils, etc.), and then using a water-based cleanser to remove any remaining (water-soluble) residues.
In this way, we achieve a comprehensive facial cleanse, which improves skin health, prevents clogged pores and inflammation due to dirt, and increases the effectiveness of any active ingredients applied afterward.
The recipe is very simple: Facial cleansing oil + cleansing gel + toner.
As you may know, ATACHE was born in the field of professional use. So, almost two decades ago, we designed a complete line to guarantee the most effective facial cleansing, based on the Korean double cleansing concept: Essentielle.
But what are the steps to follow? Which products are optimal? We'll tell you below:
PRODUCT: The makeup removal oil Total Makeup Remover is an unrivaled facial cleanser, and it has extra benefits too! It is formulated with natural oils like carrot oil, it is emulsifiable (meaning it mixes naturally with water); you can also use it as a skin-restoring mask, and as if that weren't enough, it strengthens eyelashes! Because yes, it is suitable for eye makeup removal and even the most sensitive skin... at ATACHE, we don't do things by halves.
STEP 1: Apply 2 to 5 pumps of the Total Makeup Remover oil to the palm of your hand. Add a few drops of water or toner and mix them to emulsify. This will create a type of milk that you should spread over your face, neck, and décolletage using your fingers or with the help of a cotton pad or sponge, using circular motions. Then, rinse it off with water and, if you wish, disposable towels or sponges.
PRODUCT: ATACHE cleansing gels turn into foam when emulsified with water or toner; they are formulated with extra-gentle cleansers and offer the skin a fresh and comfortable finish. Makeup Remover Gel from the Essentielle line is suitable for all skin types and is fragrance-free. Sensitive Cleanser from the Soft Derm line is especially delicate on sensitive skin and provides an elegant rose scent. Cleansing Gel from the Oily SK line contains chlorhexidine and active ingredients like salicylic acid, so in addition to cleansing, it helps regulate sebum in oily, combination, and/or acne-prone skin.
STEP 2: Emulsify the cleansing gel (Makeup Remover Gel/Sensitive Cleanser/Cleansing Gel, depending on your skin's needs) with the toner. You can do this in the palm of your hand or in a bowl. Apply it to your face with circular motions to perform the cleanse. Rinse your skin with water, and if you prefer, you can use towels, sponges, or cotton pads, preferably disposable or very well sanitized.
